After two years with the Oregon Ducks, sophomore shooting guard Jamari Phillips announced he was headed to the transfer portal.

Now, with nearly a dozen former Ducks leaving the program, and Dana Altman picking up a half dozen transfers to rebuild his roster, Phillips has officially found his next program: Washington State.

While Phillips never played for Oregon while the team was still in the Pac-12, Altman and the Ducks are no strangers to the Washington State Cougars, one of the two teams that stayed in the conference as everyone else jumped ship.

Phillips was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and was the No. 7 shooting guard in the recruiting class of 2024. Now, as a transfer prospect, he received a zero-star rating from 247Sports and wasn't even ranked among fellow guards in the portal.

While at Oregon, Phillips averaged just 9.2 minutes per game, only appearing in 40 matchups over two seasons and never starting for the Ducks.

The transfer portal may have been a slight disaster for Altman, but Phillips wasn't one of the big losses for the Ducks. During his sophomore season, he only averaged 2.7 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.1 steals per game.

Phillips committed an average of 1.2 personal fouls and gave up 0.5 turnovers per appearance, virtually negating the positive stats he recorded on the offensive end of the court.

Phillips is the fifth Oregon Duck to commit to a new program out of the transfer portal. Most notably, starting point guard Jackson Sheltstad committed to the Louisville Cardinals and starting power forward Kwame Evans Jr. committed to the Villanova Wildcats.

Dezdrick Lindsay is headed to Kansas State, and JJ Frakes is going to Buffalo. Ege Demir, Devon Pryor, and Efe Vatan have yet to commit.

So far, Altman has landed commitments from Alabama Crimson Tide power forward Taylor Bol Bowen, Kentucky Wildcats combo guard Jasper Johnson, USC Trojans shooting guard Jerry Easter II, San Diego State power forward Pharaoh Compton, Boise State Andrew Meadow, and San Francisco small forward Tyrone Riley.
