The cheapest ticket for the Big Ten Championship is less expensive than a HS game

As Oregon and Penn State get ready for the conference title game, fans can get into the stadium for less money than the Georgia state championship game.

Less than 48 hours before the No. 1 Oregon Ducks and the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions kicked off the Big Ten Championship, fans started to notice that they could get into the conference title game for a relatively inexpensive price.

Of course, there were the thousand-dollar seats that would make fans feel like they were basically on the sidelines but there were tickets listed as low as $15 or $12... surprisingly inexpensive for a Power Conference title.

Some fans even pointed out that the get-in-the-door cost was, somewhat embarrassingly, less than the price to get into the Georgia 6A state championship game – which was set to be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium and had general admission tickets on sale for $23.

For comparison, the SEC Championship had tickets on sale starting at a whopping $111. The SEC title game between the No. 2 Texas Longhorns and the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs would determine which top-tier, Power Conference team received a bye in the first round of the College Football Playoffs – just like the Big Ten title game would.

Despite Oregon and Penn State having the higher cumulative ranking, the cost to get into the Big Ten Championship was nearly a tenth of the cost to attend the SEC title game.

The No. 1 Ducks and the No. 3 Nittany Lions were scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. PT in Indianapolis – just four hours after the No. 2 Longhorns and the No. 5 Bulldogs kicked off from Atlanta at noon PT.
