Oregon is still on the search for a new Defensive Coordinator, but one name makes a lot of sense to replace the demoted Don Pellum at the position. Brady Hoke has experience, but will he return to coaching?

The Oregon Ducks are running out of big name options for the Defensive Coordinator position. Clancy Pendergast is headed back to the USC Trojans. Justin Wilcox may be a possibility. Now the attention turns to one of the final big name options in former Michigan Head Coach Brady Hoke. He has taken 2015 off from coaching and may ultimately be the best fit for the Oregon Ducks.

According to a report from the Daily Emerald, Hoke has spent time in Eugene and was even a guest of Head Coach Mark Helfrich during Spring Practice this past season. Hoke has spent time as Head Coach at Ball State, San Diego State and was a big splash hire at Michigan in 2011. Hoke was also a former assistant at Oregon State. He spent 4 seasons in the Big Ten with the Wolverines and was let go after going 31-20 over the span. His background going back to the mid 1980’s has been on the Defensive side of the ball. Coming from Big Ten Country could also give the Oregon Ducks an advantage on the recruiting trail down the line.

Hoke has Midwest and West Coast experience and if he is looking to get back into coaching, Oregon may be his landing spot. He currently hosts a College Football Radio Show on SirusXM.
