Decision time has arrived for Rob Mullens, who is tasked with finding the next leader for Oregon Football.

The day after the University of Oregon gave Mark Helfrich his walking papers, messages of thanks from players began to fill the Twitter Universe and more questions than answers now surround the program.

Oregon Football has not been in this situation in the Football world in decades. The last time they fired a coach was after the 1975 season. Rob Mullens held a Press Conference on Tuesday night saying they were putting together a ‘Wide’ search for their next Head Coach.

Mullens also admitted last night that it was an actual decision, not a conversation. The conversation was one sided from Mullens, but probably a little less dramatic than Donald Trump from the Apprentice.

Before the announcement Recruits started to jump ship, starting with Deommodore Lenoir. One reversed course saying he was staying regardless of the ship sinking. Big character points for Sampson Niu.

The healing process from all of this can now begin. The search for a new Head Coach for Oregon Football is underway.

(Naturally a Defensive Minded Coach may not be a bad thing around here.)

The process of finding a new Head Coach may be long, but Mullens knows he had a deadline date in early February – the day that recruits can officially commit to a school.

Mark Helfrich was fired after a 4-8 season that saw injuries play a large part as well as a lack of leadership on the field from Players. He finishes his career with a 37-16 record coaching the Oregon Football team.
