On Tuesday it was reported that Mark Helfrich will become an analyst with FOX Sports for the upcoming season of College Football.

Former Oregon Football Head Coach Mark Helfrich has been busy in 2017. After a rough 4-8 season and being fired by the University of Oregon, he has spent time at Tennessee, was rumored to have a spot with Alabama and had a speaking engagement with Notre Dame. With the Coaching Well dried up for the upcoming season, he will join the crew at FOX Sports.

Helfrich is the second former Oregon Football Coach to go into the broadcast business this offseason. He is following Chip Kelly, who is headed to ESPN for their coverage of College Football. Kelly will also take part in coverage of the National Football League for the Mothership.

Mark Helfrich was slated to be a part of the ESPN Coverage of the National Championship Game this past season. He was selected to participate in a Coaches Round Table, but never made the appearance.

FOX Sports Play by Play Announcer Tim Brando tweeted a picture last week playing golf Helfrich. An official announcement from FOX Sports is yet to be made. While Kelly and Helfrich are more comfortable on the field, the move to the desk may be a good thing for both of them, but don’t expect either to be their longer than they feel they have to.
