Four years ago, Kayvon Thibodeaux became a first-round draft pick, going fifth overall to the New York Giants.
Since then, he has cemented himself as an elite pass rusher, something that every Oregon Ducks fan could have told you before he was ever drafted, Thibodeaux having spent his three collegiate seasons in Eugene.
Now, as the 2026 NFL Draft unfolded, Thibodeaux may have let it slip that he isn't going to be a Giant for much longer, posting an ominous and unspecified "Goodbye" to his Instagram story.
Kayvon Thibodeaux just posted this on his Instagram account:

While the Giants already traded defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall pick of this year's draft, which New York used to select former Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, Thibodeaux's post didn't slow rumors that he could be headed out the door as well.
Kayvon Thibodeaux trade rumors heat up with latest social media activity
Giants fans have had mixed emotions surrounding their franchise's NFL Draft movements, mourning the loss of Lawrence, but celebrating the picks of Mauigoa and former Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese (fifth overall in the first round).
Amid everyone working to keep up with New York's trades and selections, Thibodeaux's name was one that continuously popped up as yet another potential trade that the Giants could make.
To put it lightly, his Instagram story didn't create any hesitation around those rumors.
While many immediately thought it was Thibodeaux saying goodbye to the Giants, there is also the possibility that he is saying goodbye to a teammate, New York possibly opting to keep the former Duck on the roster and trading a different star player for higher draft picks.

The Giants had the No. 37 overall pick (the fifth pick of the second round), which was set to be announced just a few moments after Thibodeaux shared the "goodbye." To put it simply, only time would tell (or maybe an announcement from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell).
